WWW 2011 PhD Symposium

The PhD Symposium of WWW2011 provides an excellent platform for the new as well as senior PhD students to present their ideas and receive feedback on their work by other PhD Students and experienced researchers working in areas related to World Wide Web.
The symposium welcomes submissions by PhD candidates in all the topics of the WWW2011. The list of WWW 2011 topics can be found at http://www.www2011india.com/call_papers.html
Eligibility:
The Symposium is open to all PhD Students. PhD Students at the beginning of their work are particularly welcome when they have a well-defined problem statement and some ideas about the solution that they want to discuss with.
Submissions:
Submissions should be structured around the following topics which are the key methodological components required for a sound research narrative:
■ Problem: describe the core problem of the PhD and motivate its relevance
■ State of the art: describe relevant related work
■ Proposed approach: present the approach taken and motivate how this is novel with respect to existing work
■ Methodology: sketch the methodology that is (or will be) adopted and, in particular, the approach to be taken for evaluating the results of the work
■ Results: describe the current status of the work and any results that have been reached so far
■ Conclusions and future work: conclude and specify the major items of future work.
Submissions must be no longer than 5 pages and must be formatted in the style of the WWW 2011 submissions (which is based on the ACM proceedings style). More information on the style files can be found at the WWW 2011 main website. Papers must be in PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) format and must be submitted electronically.
Submissions must be single-author, on the topic of their doctoral work. The name of the supervisor must be clearly marked ("supervised by ...") on the paper, under the author's name.
Selection Process:
All submissions will be reviewed by the Symposium Program Committee of experienced researchers, who can provide feedback and suggest future directions. The Program committee will pick papers for oral and poster presentations.
Authors attending the conference will be assigned a senior researcher as mentor to provide more detailed feedback in a personal discussion.
The Symposium Proceedings including all accepted papers will be included in the same USB with the proceedings of the main research tracks of WWW conference to be distributed to all WWW 2011 attendees, made available on the Conference Website, and available through the ACM Digital Library.
