Synopsis
Service Oriented Architecture and the Global Delivery Model
Sohrab will discuss the interplay of SOA and GDM and the underlying similarities in both philosophies.
The GDM (Global Delivery Model) is the engine of today's economy. It is also a natural shift to a more distributed, process-centric, ubiquitous, cross-cultural, and heterogeneous paradigm for software development. The same principles apply to SOA. GDM fulfils the same operational requirements - distributed, process-centric (BPM), cross-cultural (cross-platform), and heterogeneous (interoperable). The GDM model relies on outsourcing development, operational support, and even customer services to locations where the cost of development is lower.
