Edinburgh Castle is the city's most famous landmark and is undoubtedly one of the most
impressive of its kind in the British Isles. It sits on top of the famous Edinburgh rock,
dominating the city. The volcanic rock that forms the basis of the castle served as a
safe and defensive position for a castle and it is around the base of the castle that the

every year are stunned by the breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
