A recognised expert in new media, Scott Cohen co-founded The Orchard in 1997 with legendary producer/songwriter and Sire Records founder Richard Cottehrer.

The Orchard is the leading digital distributor of music in the world, representing over 2,500 labels from more than 75 countries covering every genre of music. They focus heavily on marketing, promotion and merchandising in the digital environment, blending aspects of the old world with new world rules and tools.

Scott began his career in the music business in the late 80s as an artist manager of both independent and major label artists. In addition to his responsibilities at The Orchard, Scott currently manages The Raveonettes (Columbia/SonyBMG).

Synopsis

The immediate goal of the music industry is to generate enough revenue from digital music to replace declining physical sales while driving towards the longer term goal of increasing the overall market size from its current value of around $35 billion.
