Nick Baker
Nick Baker is chief strategy officer for Reed Elsevier Group plc and a member of the management committee. He has been with Reed Elsevier since 1986 and within corporate strategy since January 1997.
Nick is directly involved in all aspects of Reed Elsevier business development including strategy planning, portfolio management, acquisitions/divestments, e-development and alliances. He works across Reed Elsevier's broad market base in the scientific, professional and business information sectors.
From April 1996 Nick was associate director, planning & development within Elsevier Science Ltd. Prior to this he held various publishing positions within Elsevier Advanced Technology, Elsevier Science Inc. and Elsevier Applied Science Publishers Ltd. His earlier career was spent at Academic Press and he has worked in the UK and US. He has a first class honours degree in zoology from the University of Edinburgh.
