Societies all around the world are embracing the Web, whether enthusiastically, reluctantly, or cautiously. Everywhere there is access to the Web, policy makers and lawyers are busy adapting legal systems to the challenges of a new medium. The Web/Internet & Society Track will consider the pressing legal issues raised by the Web, but also take a close look at the broader cultural impact of the technological and social phenomenon called the Web. As a new addition to the WWW conferences, this track will bring together recognized legal experts and scholars in the humanities with members of the Web technical community.
