TP6 - Producing XML that works internationally
Time: Monday, April 21 (half-day, afternoon, 1:30pm to 5:00pm)
Location: Room 311A (Level 3)
Abstract:
This tutorial has two purposes. It describes a new W3C Recommendation, the Internationalization Tag Set (ITS) 1.0, which is a key technology for enabling internationalization and localization of XML. In addition we present best practices for developing or updating XML schemas and creating XML content to support international use. These best practices explain and promote both usage scenarios for ITS 1.0 as well as more general issues and guidelines for enabling effective XML internationalization and localization.
After attending this tutorial, you will be able to recognize key needs when developing XML schemas and content for worldwide use, and will take away practical recommendations for addressing those needs.
