Conference Papers Arriving Nicely

Paper presenters who subitted their postscript documents for publication in the printed proceedings of the Second International WWW Conference '94: Mosaic and the Web, and their html formatted documents for electronic posting on the NCSA server, need not be alarmed at this point if they don't see their paper posted.

If you submitted the postscript version by the September 15 deadline, it will appear in the proceedings, as promised. If it arrived after the deadline, it probably will not appear.

If you have submitted the electronic version in html format, it will appear on the server as soon as it can be received and processed. One person is handling this processing and it cannot all be done simultaneously. Check the list of papers received to verify correctness.

Please be patient and we will make every attempt to speed this process along.

On the other hand, if you notice errors or problems on your paper, send a note to Barbara Kucera <bkucera@ncsa.uiuc.edu> indicating the changes that need to be made.

We appreciate all the proofreading eyes we can muster. Thanks.

Notification of Acceptance of Abstracts

A large number of requests for extension of the deadline date for the Call for Papers (related to summer absences--vacations, meetings, conferences) resulted in a revised deadline of August 10.

Due to the overwhelming response of abstracts, the "notification of acceptance" date has been adjusted to August 24. The Organizing Committee cannot make final decisions until all abstracts have been reviewed and the results processed. We appreciate the patience of everyone who has submitted an abstract, and we are endeavoring to speed this process along as quickly as possible without jeopardizing the quality of the reviews.

Student Volunteers

A call for student volunteers has been placed.
