This edition of The Web Conference Poster and Demos track boosts open science best practices highlighting papers with the ARTIFACT badge.
The Web Conference is the premier conference focused on understanding the current state and the evolution of the Web through the lens of different disciplines, including computing, computational social science, economics and political sciences.
The Posters and Demos Track is a forum to foster interactions among researchers and practitioners by allowing them to present and demonstrate their new and innovative work. In addition, the Posters and Demos track will enable conference attendees to learn novel ongoing research projects through informal interactions. Demos submissions must be based on an implemented and tested system.
Posters and Demos papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the Poster Committee based on originality, significance, quality, and clarity. Accepted papers will appear in the Companion conference proceedings. In addition, accepted work authors will be asked to create a digital poster to present their work during the Posters and Demos track at the conference.
Submitted posters are expected to be aligned with one or more of the relevant topics of The Web Conference community, including (but not limited to):
Posters and Demos papers are limited to four pages, including references. Submissions are NOT anonymous. The authors' responsibility is to ensure that their submissions adhere strictly to the required format. In particular, do not modify the format to squeeze in more material. Submissions that do not comply with the formatting guidelines will be rejected without review.
Submissions will be handled via Easychair, at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=thewebconf2023iwpd via the Poster-Demo track.
We also highly encourage to include external material related to the poster or demo (e.g., code repository on Github or equivalent) in the submission.
In this edition, we are encouraging open science best practices by highlighting posters and demo papers that provide open artifacts to be (re)used by the community.
If you want your poster or demo to opt for the ARTIFACT badge, just select during your submission the artifact type that fits your paper`'`s main contribution :
What happens next? The PC will evaluate your poster or demo under the track criteria, but if you opt for the ARTIFACT badge, the following extra criteria will also be applied (criteria adapted from https://2023.eswc-conferences.org/call-for-papers-resources-track/). Ensure you provide all the relevant links and information to facilitate reviewers identifying your paper as ARTIFACT.
Submissions must adhere to the ACM template and format published in the ACM guidelines at https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template. Please remember to add Concepts and Keywords and use the template in traditional double-column format.

Submissions for review must be in PDF format. They must be self-contained and written in English. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines, or do not view or print correctly, will be rejected without review.
As a published ACM author, you and your co-authors are subject to all ACM Publications Policies , including ACM’s new Publications Policy on Research Involving Human Participants and Subjects.
When appropriate, authors are encouraged to include a section on the ethical use of data and informed consent in their paper.
Note that submitting your research for approval by the author(s)’ institutional ethics review body (IRB) may not always be sufficient. Even if your IRB has signed off on such research, the programme committee might raise additional concerns about the ethical implications of the work and include these concerns in its review.
Accepted papers will require a further revision to meet the requirements and page limits of the camera-ready format required by ACM. Instructions for the preparation of the camera-ready versions of the papers will be provided after acceptance.
All accepted papers will be published by ACM and will be available via the ACM Digital Library. To be included in the Companion Proceedings, at least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference and present the paper.
