The British computer Scientist has received many prestigious awards and honors. He is a Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Director of the World Wide Web Foundation and was recently named President of the UK's Open Data Institute.

Quoting Tim Berners-Lee (Scientific American - Nov. 2010): "The Web is yours. It is a public resource on which you, your business, your community and your government depend. The Web is also vital to democracy, a communications channel that makes possible a continuous worldwide conversation. The goal of the Web is to serve humanity. We build it now so that those who come to it later will be able to create things that we cannot ourselves imagine."

The host and organizers (W3C Brasil, NIC.br and CGI.br) of WWW2013 are pleased and honored to welcome Berners-Lee, who continues to push for the evolution of the Web for the benefit of humanity. Join us at WWW2013 to learn more about the future of the Web from Berners-Lee and many other conference speakers!
