Jean Dorey

Born May 25, 1951, Jean Dorey is a graduate of Ecole Centrale de Paris (promotion 1974). Director of the Ecole Centrale in Beijing since October 2006, he was previously in early 2005 to September 2006, CEO of Université de Lyon, which became Research and Higher Education Consortium of Lyon in 2007.
From July 1999 to late 2004, he was director of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon. Parallel with this function, he hold the position of First Vice President of the Conference of Heads of French Engineering Schools (CDEFI) from March 2002 to September 2004.
He joined EDF in 1975, he held various positions, first in the direction of research and after at the equipment, in the nuclear sector and he has also engaged in activities outside of EDF from 1991 to 1994, DATAR, first as deputy director of the European network of overseas offices and then as project manager, responsible for the reception in France of foreign investors
Note that it was also Vice President of Economic and Social Council of Rhone-Alpes from November 2001 to October 2006 and an auditor of the 134th session of the Regional Institute of Higher Studies for National Defense in 1998.
In September 2009, to mark the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, he was awarded the Friendship Award by the Chinese government.
