This is the fourth issue of the WWW2007 Newsletter. In this issue:
The deadline for paper submissions to WWW2007 is less than a week away! WWW2007 seeks original papers describing research in all areas of the Web. All refereed papers must be submitted on or before November 20, 2006 (by 11:59pm Hawaii time). This is a hard deadline: NO EXTENSIONS!!
The WWW2007 technical program will be divided into 13 tracks, and authors of the best papers will be invited to submit an enhanced version of their work for a special issue of the ACM Transactions on the Web.
In addition to regular papers, we also solicit submissions of position papers articulating high-level architectural visions, describing challenging future directions, or critiquing current design wisdom. Authors are encouraged to use "Position Paper" in the title of these papers to distinguish them from regular papers.

The deadline for submitting Tutorial proposals to WWW2007 is also fast approaching. Tutorial proposals are desired for both half-day and full-day sessions on topics of current and ongoing relevance to Web design, services, operation, use, and evaluation.
Proposals must clearly identify the learning objectives, the target audience, the relevance to the WWW2007 audience, references to relevant material, and a short biography of the presenter(s).
The deadline for submitting Tutorial proposals is November 27, 2006.

WWW2007 received 32 workshop proposals, which is up from 27 last year, and (we think) a new record high for the WWW conference series.
The Workshops program committee is currently evaluating these proposals, and selecting 6-10 workshops to be held at WWW2007. Notification to the workshop organizers will be forthcoming by the end of November.
The CFPs and paper submission deadlines for the accepted workshops will be advertised on the WWW2007 Web site when they are available.
Thanks to several of you who have already made their hotel reservations for WWW2007. The town of Banff will surely be full with the WWW2007 and PIASS conferences taking place the same week of May, and hotels will be hard to find.
The WWW2007 conference organizers have been busy rounding up small room blocks of overflow hotel space for WWW2007. Two alternate hotels have already been confirmed, and three more are being negotiated at this time. Room rates range from about $170 to $300 CDN per night. Further information on recommended hotels, contact information, and room block availability will be provided early in the new year.
The WWW2007 online registration system will be activated very shortly. The Early Registration deadline is March 5, 2007. Feel free to sign up even earlier if you know you are coming, or if you need your registration processed this calendar year.
The WWW2007 Newsletter will be sent periodically, roughly once every month leading up to the conference. The newsletters will be archived at the 'Media and Publicity' section of the WWW2007 Web site.
