In the August 2006 issue of this Newsletter, we announced the first official registrant for WWW2007 (Angela Towers). On March 23, we were pleased to receive our 500th registration (Michael Huggett), and we expect to roughly double this count in the next few weeks.

The regular registration deadline for WWW2007 is April 2nd.
WWW2007 offers 3 types of registration passes: Passport (access to all events for all 5 days of the conference), 3-day, and 1-day passes. In addition, attendees may combine either a 1-day or 3-day pass with an extra 1-day ticket to create a customized 2-day or 4-day pass, if needed.
Note that a day pass gives access to all conference activities, including social events, for the specific day only. Tuesday attendees can join in on the Web History reception. Wednesday attendees can attend the welcoming reception. Thursday attendees are invited to the conference social event at Brewster's MountView barbecue.

A total of 40 students were selected for receiving WWW2007 student travel awards. These awards are intended to help offset the cost of attending the conference, and were given (based on merit) to full-time students registering for 3 or more days of WWW2007. Many of these students are authors, co-authors, or presenters of refereed papers, poster papers, or workshop papers appearing at WWW2007. Congratulations to the deserving recipients.
Student travel awards were made possible thanks to generous funding provided by IBM Research, iCORE, Microsoft, and the University of Calgary.
The WWW2007 conference organizers have been busy issuing well over 100 travel visa invitation letters to prospective delegates from around the globe. If you still need one, please send your request to www2007info@iw3c2.org before the end of March, so that there is adequate time for travel visa processing before your trip. More details are provided on the travel information page.
The WWW2007 Newsletter will be sent periodically, roughly once every month leading up to the conference. The newsletters will be archived at the 'Media and Publicity' section of the WWW2007 Web site.
