1. WWW2007 program almost complete

The 5-day technical program for WWW2007 is nearly complete!
Here's a quick overview:

Three fun social events are also planned.

For more details and schedule, see the WWW2007 program page.

2. Registration numbers mounting

In the August 2006 issue of this Newsletter, we announced the first official registrant for WWW2007 (Angela Towers). On March 23, we were pleased to receive our 500th registration (Michael Huggett), and we expect to roughly double this count in the next few weeks.

The WWW2007 organizers look forward to welcoming you in Banff for a great conference and many memorable experiences. Register now to reserve your space!

3. Conference hotel space getting tight!

The room block at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel for WWW2007 conference attendees is over 95% full!

If you have not made your reservation yet, please hurry. The Banff Springs is a truly remarkable and unique hotel, which will make your stay in Banff memorable.

For more information, visit http://www2007.org/hotel.php

If you have trouble getting the nights you need, then please try one of the 10 overflow hotels for WWW2007.

4. Registration deadline fast approaching

The regular registration deadline for WWW2007 is April 2nd.

WWW2007 offers 3 types of registration passes: Passport (access to all events for all 5 days of the conference), 3-day, and 1-day passes. In addition, attendees may combine either a 1-day or 3-day pass with an extra 1-day ticket to create a customized 2-day or 4-day pass, if needed.

Note that a day pass gives access to all conference activities, including social events, for the specific day only. Tuesday attendees can join in on the Web History reception. Wednesday attendees can attend the welcoming reception. Thursday attendees are invited to the conference social event at Brewster's MountView barbecue.

For more information, see the online WWW2007 registration page.

5. Student travel awards

A total of 40 students were selected for receiving WWW2007 student travel awards. These awards are intended to help offset the cost of attending the conference, and were given (based on merit) to full-time students registering for 3 or more days of WWW2007. Many of these students are authors, co-authors, or presenters of refereed papers, poster papers, or workshop papers appearing at WWW2007. Congratulations to the deserving recipients.

Student travel awards were made possible thanks to generous funding provided by IBM Research, iCORE, Microsoft, and the University of Calgary.

6. Last call for travel visa letters

The WWW2007 conference organizers have been busy issuing well over 100 travel visa invitation letters to prospective delegates from around the globe. If you still need one, please send your request to www2007info@iw3c2.org before the end of March, so that there is adequate time for travel visa processing before your trip. More details are provided on the travel information page.

The WWW2007 Newsletter will be sent periodically, roughly once every month leading up to the conference. The newsletters will be archived at the 'Media and Publicity' section of the WWW2007 Web site.

Contact the WWW2007 Publicity Chair, (Denilson Barbosa, denilson@ucalgary.ca) with news and/or announcements for upcoming editions of the Newsletter.

We have made every effort to keep the circulation of the newsletters amongst those interested in receiving them. If you are not in this group, please accept our apologies; we ask you to send an email to contact@iw3c2.org requesting to be removed from our mailing list.
