Wikipedia is the world's largest collaboratively edited source of encyclopaedic knowledge, but only very little of its contents is processable with computers. To overcome this limitation, we introduce Semantic MediaWiki, an extension of the Wikipedia system that allows users to add machine-readable data to articles in a simple and unobtrusive way. The underlying principles of this extension are discussed in a research paper of the same title that will be presented at the Semantic Web Track of the WWW2006. Here, we demonstrate the typical workflow of knowledge processing within the system, ranging from wiki editing, over RDF encoding and export, to advanced search functions using SPARQL. Wikipedia has the chance to become an enormous resource of machine-readable data, and the task of processing this information is a great challenge for existing systems. We invite developers to employ their tools in this practical setting. Our architecture allows the creation of new services inside and outside the wiki, and can be useful for real-world testing and public show-casing of emerging semantic technologies.
