Efficient, effective and intuitive web search is essential to allow users to properly take advantage of the enormous and diverse amount of information available on the Web. The fast change in web applications and content, caused by the evolution of social networks, microblogs and e-commerce systems, and the still growing number of users and content on the Web, present new challenges but also new opportunities for Web search.
