SemWeb.Pro 2012
SemWeb.Pro is a conference that focuses on Semantic Web technologies used in the real world. Too often, the semantic web is considered to be an academic research subject, this conference will show how professionals use them for real use cases. A day of talks and a day of tutorials makes it possible for professionals to meet and share their experience of these technologies.
Topics/keywords explored in 2012 :
Linked Data, RDFa, Schema.org, microdata, SPARQL, Linked Enteprise Data, DBPedia, OWL, goodrelations, opendata, dublin core, foaf, RDF, etc.
WOD 2012
The 1st International Workshop on Open Data (WOD) is one of the very first events that stresses new and exciting challenges offered by the emerging field of Open Data, from the viewpoint of scientific research in computer science. The workshop aims at facilitating new trends and ideas from a broad range of topics concerned within the widely-spread Open Data movement: big data management, data management in the cloud, web data integration, linked data and semantic web, data science and data analytics, social web, data privacy, data visualization, data curation, data provenance. How are the previous computer science topics renewed by the Open Data movement – new issues and new solutions ? What should computer science research learn from other fields of Open Data ? ESWC 2012
The goal of the Extended Semantic Web Conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners dealing with different aspects of semantics on the Web. Starting with the 2010, the ESWC builds on the success of the former European Semantic Web Conference series, but seeks to extend its focus by engaging with other communities within and outside ICT, in which semantics can play an important role. All information on the ESWC conference series, upcoming and past conferences can be found at www.eswc-conferences.org
ICWSM-12
The International AAAI Conference on Weblogs and Social Media (ICWSM) is a unique forum that brings together researchers from the disciplines of computer science, linguistics, communication, and the social sciences. The broad goal of ICWSM is to increase understanding of social media in all its incarnations. Research that blends social science and computational approaches are especially encouraged. The 6th ICWSM conference will be held in Dublin, Ireland from 4-8 June 2012.
WIMS’12
International Conference on Web Intelligence, Mining and Semantics WIMS is a new series of conferences concerned with intelligent approaches to transform the World Wide Web into a global reasoning and semantics-driven computing machine. WIMS’12 is the second in the WIMS series of conferences. The purpose of the WIMS series is to provide a forum for established researchers and practitioners to present past and current research contributing to the state of the art of Web technology research and applications and to give doctoral students an opportunity to present their research to a friendly and knowledgeable audience and receive valuable feedback.
ICWE 2012
International Conference on Web Engineering ICWE 2012 The International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE) aims at promoting scientific and practical excellence on Web Engineering, and at bringing together researchers and practitioners working in technologies, methodologies, tools, and techniques used to develop and maintain Web-based applications leading to better systems, and thus to enabling and improving the dissemination and use of content and services through the Web.
Web2Touch’12
Web2Touch’12 aims to be a forum to discuss theories, models and techniques that explore how the knowledge emerges, evolves and is shared through the web, and to present lessons learned from applying them to Web systems including social networks, wikis, Web science, eHealth, eGov, management of risky situations.
HT 2012
ACM Hypertext and Social Media conference
The ACM Hypertext and Social Media conference is a premium venue for high quality peer-reviewed research on hypertext theory, systems and applications. It is concerned with all aspects of modern hypertext research including social media, semantic web, dynamic and computed hypertext and hypermedia as well as narrative systems and applications.
The ACM Hypertext and Social Media 2012 conference will focus on exploring, studying and shaping relationships between four important dimensions of links in hypertextual systems: people, data, resources and stories.
Future TV 2012
Going beyond today’s second screen and social TV experience, linkedTV is a vision of how TV and the Web will, in the future, become seamlessly interwoven, independent of the content or device. Rather than switch between “TV” and the “Web” they will co-exist, content on screen being intuitively mashed-up together, and interaction by the user shifting between content and data from the different sources effortlessly.
The 3rd Future Television workshop aims at exploring the research and development necessary for moving from today’s Web-TV platforms to tomorrows linkedTV platform…
SSSW 2012
The 9Th Summer School On Ontology Engineering And The Semantic Web
The groundbreaking SSSW series of summer schools started in 2003. It is now a well-establish event within the research community and a role model for several other initiatives. Presented by leading researchers in the field, it represents an opportunity for both students and practitioners to equip themselves with the range of theoretical, practical, and collaboration skills necessary for full engagement with the challenges involved in developing Ontologies and Semantic Web applications. To ensure a high ratio between tutors and students the school will be limited to 50 participants. Applications for the summer school will open on the 30th January 2012 and will close by the 31st March 2012.
ICWL 2012
ICWL is an annual international conference on Web-based learning; its 11th edition will be held this year in Sinaia, Romania. The conference is targeted at academic researchers, developers, educationists and practitioners alike. Its aim is to provide a forum for discussing new trends and initiatives in the area of Web-based learning, including research on intelligent tutoring systems, computer supported collaborative learning, personalized and adaptive learning, game-based learning, Web 2.0 and social learning environments, e-learning platforms and tools, as well as pedagogical issues.
wism2012
The aim of the workshop is to provide a platform for bringing together researchers, practitioners, designers, and users of WIS and discuss how specific issues of Web Information Systems (WIS) design can be addressed by means of modeling. Specifically, we will discuss how the influence of Semantic Web technology can help in a model-driven WIS development. Thus, the workshop should enable a fruitful exchange of ideas in the state-of-the-art of WIS modeling.
LA-WEB 2012
LA-WEB 2012 is the 8th edition of the Latin American Web Congress.
