In 1994 he headed a cross-departmental team preparing editorial, advertising and marketing aspects of the FT's international expansion. He became Editor of the International Edition in 1995. From August 1997 to October, he acted as Deputy editor of the FT during the Editor's secondment to the US and was appointed Deputy editor at the beginning of 1999, taking specific responsibility for the developing the FT's readership and coverage in Continental Europe. In September of that year, Peter was made Editorial director of Internet activities, responsible for the editorial content of the Internet sites, recruiting additional staff and forging new content partnerships.

He is a graduate of the Rijksuniversiteit of Groningen in the Netherlands.

Stuart Collingwood has worked in the information technology industry for many years, accumulating extensive experience in the media and interactive services industries. He has been with Liberate Technologies since January 1999 where he was appointed vice president, sales for Southern Europe, In his present position Stuart is charged with growing Liberate Technologies European presence.
Prior to this, Stuart worked for the computer services organisation, ICL, where he spent more than eight years in a variety of sales and marketing roles within new media and financial services. Most notably, Stuart was business manager, Media where his team worked with network operators and broadcasters to deliver complex systems integration projects with a strategic focus in interactive services and digital TV. Stuart worked closely with NTL who are using ICL to deliver the interactive services element of NTL?s digital cable initiative.
