Biographic Information for Prof. Xing Li,

Xing Li is professor of the Electronic Engineering Department of Tsinghua
University, Deputy Director of China Education and Research Network (CERNET)
Center. He is one of the major architects of CERNET. His research interests
include statistical signal processing, multimedia communication and computer
networks. He is an advisor of CERNET homepage (www.edu.cn). He is designing
web textbook and web computer simulation lab for his lecture "Stochastic
Signal Processing". He is the director of "Net-Compass" developing team,
an Internet search engine for the Chinese/English homepages.
He received his B. S. degree in radio electronics from Tsinghua University, Beijing in 1982, and his M. S. and Ph. D. degrees in electrical engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia in 1985 and 1989, respectively. He is a member of Communication Expert Committee of the China National "863" High Technology Project and a member of the Technical Board of CERNET. He is a fellow of China Communication Institute, a senior member of China Electronic Institute, member of IEEE Signal Processing Society and IEEE Computer Society. He is a member of ISOC, a member of the Board of Executive Council of APNIC, a member of the Board of Steering Committee of APIA and a vice chairman of APNG. He is a member of Sigma Xi.
