WWW7 Awards presentation |
WWW7 BEST PAPER AWARDThe WWW7 Awards Subcommittee will be selecting a Best Paper from the 54 papers presented at the conference. The Best Paper will be selected on the following criteria:
IBM JAVA BRAINWAVE AWARDFor the first time this year, there is a prize to recognise the best Java-implemented idea presented at the conference. Recognising the strong links in the conference subject matter between the academic and the commercial, the prize for the idea most likely to succeed if commercialised is a letter of introduction to the Kleiner Perkins Caulfield Byers Java Fund, a venture capital fund managed from Silicon Valley in the USA. Self-nomination for this Award has now closed. The prize has been kindly donated by IBM Corporation.WWW7 BEST POSTER AWARDThe prize for the Best Poster presentation at WWW7 is a free passport registration to the next WWW conference, WWW8, in Toronto in 1999. While the Best Paper is determined by the Committee, the Best Poster award is decided by you, the delegate.Because posters are inherently a presentation medium, we want you to vote which one you think is the best presented, using the voting slips provided in the delegate back-packs. The Poster presentation session is on Thursday morning from 08:30 to 10:30. Please fill in your choice of Best Poster, and the reason you think it is the best (optional) and put your vote into the ballot box provided no later than lunchtime on Thursday. Don't forget there is a DOOR PRIZE
for casting your Best poster vote!
WWW7 DOOR PRIZEIf you fill in your name in the space provided on the Best Poster voting slip, you will be eligible for the Door Prize. We will randomly select one of the Best Poster voting slips and will give the Door Prize to the person whose name is drawn! You will have to be at the closing ceremony to claim the Door Prize or else we'll give it to someone else!AWARDS CEREMONYThe awards will all be announced in the closing session of the conference, Friday 17th April at 4:00pm.CONTACT POINTAll questions concerning Awards should be directed to the Awards Sub-Committee via the Chair, Simon Phipps. |
