Now need standards like RTP for industry to really take off

• Parallels the example of FAX

• Access bandwidth and new capabilities will grow over time

• Other layers needed in addition to RTP:

  • Resource management in the network (RSVP)

  • Session/connection management (IETF MMUSIC WG)
