Empower Individuals to Empower Groups
Empower Individuals to Empower Groups
by Daniel LaLiberte, NCSA
- Collaboration should not Supress the Individual
- Too much inappropriate group input
- Not enough appropriate personal output
- Web lets individuals publish what then want
and read what they want, if they can find it.
- Filtering is Essential!
- Agents to search for info matching personal profile.
- Prioritize and organize based on personal preferences.
- Active notification - send selected info to users who want
or need it.
- What If Everyone Gets What They Want?
- Self-serving groups isolated from contrary ideas?
- Public == All Individuals
- Scaling Collaboration to the Public
- Can't and don't need to send all info everywhere.
- Registration for notification via distributed weblets.
