Lyon, world Web capital
From the 16th to the 20th April 2012, the annual WWW conference that has been bringing together the world wide web’s leading scientific and industrial actors since 1994 is to take place in Lyon France, close to its origins (CERN). Over the duration of the event Lyon will be the world Web capital.
www2012 is the unmissable event for all web researchers and web users. Over 1000 delegates are expected, and end-users are invited for events open to the general public.
The scientific impact of WWW conferences is considerable (4000 citations), far ahead of similar events in the field of web research. Innovation and research inspire small and large companies to aim for a more dynamic and truly global world wide web.
Although the web raises the most advanced technological questions, it also raises social, societal and philosophical issues, which are critical web research subjects. « Society and Knowledge » is the leading theme of www2012.
The www2012 conference is also a great opportunity to witness exclusive demonstrations firsthand, world premier announcements, attend international project community meetings and consortiums, have meetings with young scientists and innovative companies, and to enjoy collocated events and tracks (Web For All / Web Science / CIUEN / Web European Projects, W3C, Web Industry, Developers, PhD symposium, …), etc.
The exceptional site of Lyon together with the mobilization of its University, the attendance of local, national and international web actors will ensure conviviality and scientific excellence.
