The conference organisers and our sponsors are keen to encourage the participation of the academic community in the conference and specifically the student population. There are a number ways in which we are encouraging their involvement and to help with costs.

Discount Student Ticket when booked with a Passport

The price of a student passport will be reduced from £450 to £250 if booked in association with any full Passport. To apply the student and full passport need to be registered via this site on the same day and an email request sent to Grace Porter grace@inanyevent-uk.com. Please put Discount Student Ticket in the subject and name the requesting passport holder and student in the email. Anyone holding a registered full passport prior to 21st February can apply retrospectively by registering the student and sending an email as outlined above.

Cheap Student Accommodation

The conference organisers have arranged for some inexpensive accommodation options. In addition to the hotels listed on the accommodation page, a variety of accomodation is now available from £17 per person per night (at the Highlander Castle Backpackers Hostel with free internet access) to £37 per person per night (sharing twin rooms in a 4* serviced apartment). IBM Sponsored Studentships

Thanks to IBM we can offer 8 free student passports to attend the conference. The passports have been allocated across the geographical regions of the world in order to promote the spirit of WWW2006 being a global event. To apply for a free passport students should send an email with 100 words on why I should attend to www2006-offers@www2006.org. The offer will close on 17th March 2006; applicants will be informed of their success or failure by the close on the 20th March 2006.

Student Volunteer Positions
