About the Authors:
JOANNA MASON
is a graduate student in Computer Science at the Electronic Visualization
Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her current research interests include Four
Dimensional Manifolds and Volumes, Four Dimensional Physically Based Modeling, interactive
computer graphics and virtual reality.
MAREK CZERNUSZENKO
is a Ph.D. candidate at the Electronic Visualization Laboratory at
the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research interests include the design of virtual reality
systems, applied technology research in computational science and engineering, 3D computer
graphics, animation and multimedia.
DANA PLEPYS
is a Senior Research Programmer in the Electrical Engineering and Computer
Science Dept. at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is responsible for managing projects
as they relate to the Electronic Visualization Laboratory's research in virtual reality,
visualization, and technology transfer to industry. Plepy's is also the administrator of the ACM
SIGGRAPH video review.
THOMAS A DEFANTI, Ph.D.,
is director of the Electronic Visualization Laboratory, a
professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and director of the Software
Technologies Research Center at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also the visiting
associate director of the virtual environments group at the National Center for Supercomputing
Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
