2 - Design Features in WebLinker
2.2 - What WebLinker does...
WebLinker is designed to do two separate tasks:
- It is run as a post-processor to the document creation process. It takes an infostructure arranged as a set of HTML files and
- extracts all references to external documents
- extracts all logical fragment identifiers within the infostructure.
- It is installed on the HTTP server on which the infostructure resides to perform dynamic LRN to URL conversion.
It improves handling of:
- All links into the infostructure, in that we can change its structure without breaking the links.
- All links from the infostructure to external infostructures, in that we can update these links without having to rebuild the entire infostructure.
