Howard Beck is an assistant professor of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Florida. He has a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from the University of Florida, and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He has been involved in theoretical and applied aspects of information retrieval systems for the past 12 years. He has developed the Florida Agricultural Information System for the Florida Cooperative Extension Service, and published 14 CD-ROMs on agricultural topics. Research interests include using semantic networks in data modeling, expert systems, natural language processing, machine learning and computer simulation.
